Overall Purpose of Job: While being assigned an area or territory, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for and takes ownership of selling Monaco products, services and solutions through building and maintaining relationships with both Monaco’s existing and prospective customer base. The Regional Sales Manager must be able to build and maintain meaningful and effective customer and prospect relationships based on credibility and trust in order to partner with customers/prospects and effectively tailor Monaco products, services and solutions to customer/prospect needs. The Sales Manager must also be able to assist customers in capital planning and budgeting strategies to align customer/prospect operational requirements and needs with future purchases. The Sales Manager’s effectiveness, success and compensation are based on achieving the budgeted individual and company sales goals.
The Regional Sales Manager will serve as a trusted partner to military and government clients, helping navigate procurement systems while ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. This role requires familiarity with military installations and comfort traveling and working on-site at various bases. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential, as the position involves building and maintaining long-term relationships with key stakeholders, troubleshooting customer issues, and providing tailored recommendations to meet unique facility needs.
While not required, a history of military or Department of Defense civilian service is highly desirable, as it provides invaluable insight into the operational environment and specific challenges faced by our customers. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate adaptability, professionalism, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Extensive travel may be required at times to ensure direct, hands-on support and relationship management within the assigned region.
Essential Functions:
- Initiating, building & maintaining relationships of trust (with both internal & external partners) through in-person and virtual/remote strategies and opportunities; Traveling to customer sites (potentially heavy travel at times) and maintaining effective communications/relations when not visiting in-person; Learning & understanding customer/prospect needs, requirements & constraints; Consultative selling; Capital planning & budgeting; Learning, educating & training on how Monaco solutions solve customer/prospect needs & requirements; Being able to understand, articulate and sell the value of Monaco solutions; Providing high level customer service to internal and external customers and partners; Taking the lead in resolving customer concerns and issues; Delivering and regularly following up on customer quotes and proposals; Participating in regular sales planning meetings.
Education Required: Bachelors Degree in applicable field; Appropriate experience in lieu of education may be acceptable.

- Is experienced in the Fire Life Safety and/or Emergency Management fields and has an ability to guide customers toward optimal solutions.

Special Knowledge and Skills Required: Good understanding of general business practices; solid understanding of Department of Defense procurement and budgeting process; maintain an entrepreneurial perspective; excellent communication (verbal and written); ability to handle high volume of telephone inquiries; high level of product knowledge; personal organization, time management and workload prioritization skills; good understanding of computers as applied to this position; Google Workspace / Microsoft Office Suite (email, calendar, work processing, spreadsheets, etc); computer/IT systems and applications; attention to detail; accuracy; records management; filing; computer data entry; computer report generation; business mathematics; teamwork; human relations; reliability and dependability.
Technology / Equipment Used: Monaco’s ERP/CRM system; other internal Monaco systems (SiteWorks library, MINA quote tracking system, etc.); Windows based computer; email; printers; calculator; copy machine; facsimile machine; telephone; various other computer applications / systems.
Working Environment and Conditions: General office conditions as well as military base / customer site visits. High volume of customer telephone calls, faxes, and emails that require timely and accurate response.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm, 40 hours per week. However, this position must have the capacity and flexibility to work and communicate with a customer base in different time zones (sometimes overseas) and with non-standard working hours. Greater than 40 hours per week are often required to meet customer-imposed deadlines and constraints.

The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time as well as be able to perform essential functions like site visits and site surveys (requiring much walking, standing, etc.). Frequently the employee needs to be able to talk, hear, stand, move about the office, bend and twist at the waist. The employee constantly operates a computer, mouse, calculator, copy machine, printer, communicates with outside customers on the telephone and co-workers in the office. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs, crouch, kneel and reach above shoulder level. The employee must be able to travel extensively.

The compensation plan for this role has a base and variable component. The base salary range for this role is $55,000 to $150,000. The variable component is incentive-based (tiered commission structure), depends on the achievement of individual and company goals as well as a management performance evaluation, and can amount to up to 1.5% or more of sales generated.? The range may change in the future. Pay within the range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The compensation plan is subject to change.
